Who we are

Readerbull ("we", "us") runs the platform at readerbull.com, which helps self-published authors understand and improve how discoverable their books are on Amazon. This policy covers the readerbull website and dashboard. It doesn't cover Amazon itself, or any other site you might reach through a link on readerbull.

Information we collect

When you sign up, we collect the email address you sign in with. We use passwordless magic-link sign-in by default, and you can optionally set a password from your dashboard for a faster return login.

When you add a book, you give us an Amazon ASIN or listing URL. We use that to pull the book's public listing data directly from Amazon, including its title, description, star rating, review count, price, cover image, category and bestseller rank. This is the same information any shopper can see on the book's Amazon page.

You can optionally add or edit further details yourself: a description, backend keywords, your own note on monthly sales (kept for your reference only, it doesn't affect your Discoverability Score), whether you're currently running Amazon Ads, and the manuscript file itself as a PDF, if you choose to upload one.

We don't currently collect any payment information, because payment isn't live yet. Every account gets full access while we finish building the paid tiers.

How we generate your Discoverability Score and audit

To build your score, competitor list, keyword research and written marketing recommendations, we send some of the information above (your book's title, category, keywords, and similar listing details, never your email address or account details) to a small number of specialist data and AI providers on your behalf: SerpApi (for Amazon listing and search data), DataForSEO (for keyword research), and Anthropic (for the AI-written narrative and keyword classification). None of these providers are permitted to use your data for anything other than fulfilling that specific request.

Some figures on your dashboard, like Sales/mo, are estimates calculated from public data (such as bestseller rank), not real reported sales. We label these clearly wherever they appear.

Manuscript uploads

If you upload your book's PDF, it's stored securely and privately, accessible only to your account. We don't read, analyse, share or use the contents of your manuscript for anything beyond what you've asked readerbull to do for you.

Who we share data with

Beyond the data providers above, readerbull relies on a small number of infrastructure providers to run the service: Supabase (our database and account sign-in provider), Vercel (website hosting), Resend (for sending your sign-in emails), and PostHog (anonymous product analytics, see below). Each only receives the data it needs to do its job.

We don't sell your data, and we don't share it with anyone for their own marketing purposes.

Cookies, local storage and analytics

Readerbull doesn't use advertising cookies, and doesn't use any cookies for analytics either. Two things are stored in your browser's local storage instead: a small piece of session information that keeps you signed in between visits, and a randomly generated, anonymous ID used by PostHog, the analytics tool we use to understand how visitors use the site (which pages get visited, where people drop off, which features get used) so we can improve the product.

This analytics ID isn't tied to your name, email or account, it's anonymous, aggregate usage data, not personal tracking. If that changes in future, for example if we start tying usage data to specific accounts to offer better support, we'll update this section clearly before doing so.

How long we keep your data

We keep your account and book data for as long as your account is active. You can delete an individual book at any time from your dashboard. If you'd like your entire account and all associated data deleted, email coastlvibes@gmail.com and we'll action it directly, we don't yet have a fully self-service deletion flow built.

Your rights

You can ask us at any time to see what data we hold on you, correct anything inaccurate, or delete your account entirely. Email coastlvibes@gmail.com for any of these and we'll respond as quickly as we can.

Children's privacy

Readerbull is built for authors and publishers, and isn't directed at children. We don't knowingly collect data from anyone under 16.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes in a meaningful way, we'll update the date at the top of this page. Worth checking back occasionally if you want to stay current.
